In 1986, successful Oxford businessman Stanton Ballard discovered that he had just months to live.
He gathered family and friends together to promote his wish that part of his legacy be used to set up a charitable trust, primarily for the benefit of the people of Oxford and its neighbourhood.
During his lifetime, Stanton was actively involved in serving the local community, supporting youth groups and as a member of the Oxford Rotary Club. The Trust initially received a number of properties in the City and has continued to invest in property which generates most of the income for its charitable grant-making activities.
The present Trustees continue this objective by supporting local people in Oxfordshire and other charitable and voluntary organisations that can show they are active in this county.
All of our trustees are volunteers who live in the Oxford area, and who give up their time freely to support the Trust's aims. We have no office and no directly employed staff, so the best way to contact us is by email or otherwise by post to our PO Box address. Our phone number has an outgoing messaage only, advising of the best way to contact us.
